JUVENTUS opened up a three-point lead at the top of Serie A tonight thanks to a 2-0 win over struggling Livorno.
They had Gianluigi Buffon to thank for their fourth straight win this season as he single-handedly kept a creative Livorno at bay after Vincenzo Iaquinta and Claudio Marchisio had taken Juve's only chances of the first half.
Genoa and Sampdoria can draw level on Juve should they also maintain their 100% record tomorrow.
Elsewhere, Udinese increased the pressure on Napoli coach Roberto Donadoni by holding them to a goalless draw at the Stadio San Paolo tonight.
The southerners have won just once all season and they were prevented from getting their second three-point haul by an Udinese side who, after scoring seven and conceding seven in their previous three games, will welcome the clean sheet which keeps them in the right half of the Serie A table.
Donadoni's side had the better chances to score but as is symptomatic of their start to the season, the ball just would not land in the back of the net.
