Kahn won eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern as well as the Champions League and UEFA Cup, not to mention the six DFB-Pokal triumphs.

He was part of the team which dominated German football for a decade, missing out on the Bundesliga only three times between 1999 and when he pinned up his gloves in 2008.

Now, he believes his club is ready for another period of domination.

"They are on the way to another cycle of success and also on the way to being dominant in Europe again," he told the Bild newspaper.

"At the moment, everything is going perfectly. As soon as Bayern take over at the top of the table, then there will be no getting them down again.

"As soon as that happens, the title is decided."

Kahn also believes that Bayern should be setting their sights on Champions League glory this season.

They play Italian side Fiorentina in the first knockout stage of the competition this coming Wednesday and a place in the quarter-finals, given the two sides' contrasting form, looks a distinct possibility.

They have also reached the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal and Kahn claims an unprecedented treble is on the cards.

"For the first time in ages, FC Bayern has the chance to win three titles," he said. "That is something the team has got to keep focused on."
