GERMAN legend and FIFA Executive Committee member Franz Beckenbauer is impressed by Australia’s World Cup bid but was giving nothing away about the bid's prospects.
In a promising sign, the football legend told News Limited Australia had "an extremely strong and well prepared bid" for 2022.
"I think you have a good chance for 2022," Beckenbauer said.
The 64-year-old believes the opposition to Australia's bid gives it an advantage.
"Your opposition is not bad - you have the USA and Korea and Japan and some others but I realise that your bidding committee is extremely strong, extremely well prepared," he said.
But he was not giving anything away.
He added: "Wait and see as the decision is in December, coming December. Good Luck."
