The American side suffered a disappointing early MLS play-off exit, but the prospect of having a Brazil international star in their squad could give their players a morale boost.

After Brazil's 1-1 draw against Colombia - which was held on US soil - the Real Madrid midfielder admitted a move to New York, or any other team in the league, is not out of the question.

"Not now, I think. One day, I hope I can play in MLS," Kaka said. "I don't think it's now (though)."

Reports have linked Kaka, 30, with a move to New York after the 2014 World Cup - to be held in his native Brazil - has finished.

Though the former Ballon d’Or winner has struggled since his transfer to Real Madrid, his overall career statistics in Europe are impressive. He has scored 120 goals and dished out 76 assists in 370 appearances.

Kaka saw first-hand Brazil's drawing power in New Jersey on Wednesday, with many of the 40,000 supporters in attendance supporting the five-time World Cup champions.

"(The crowds were) very nice. I love to play here," the ex-AC Milan star said. "It's nice to play in America."

The fact Kaka's younger brother, Digao, joined New York this year has helped fuel transfer speculation and, although Kaka did not mention his brother, he did say he was impressed by the quality of US football.

"I like it. I have some friends that are playing now here so they say a lot of good stuff about the MLS," Kaka said. "One day I hope I can play here."
