MILAN, March 5 (Serie A) - Socceroo goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac has signed a contract extension with Milan which will keep him at the club until June 2009.
The 34-year-old, who joined the Italian giants in 2005 from Perugia, has made seven league appearances this campaign, including a clean sheet against Celtic in the Champions League.
Kalac's appearances have come due to Brazilian keeper Dida's recent injury but the Australian takes no joy from seeing his counterpart battling for fitness.
"Football's a team game," he said recently at an AC Milan Soccer School in Sydney. "Squads win championships and not individuals."
However 'Spider' will be on the bench for Wednesday's Champions League return leg against Celtic despite his solid performance in the goalless tie in Scotland a fortnight ago and Dida's blunder in the 3-1 win against Chievo on Saturday.
