SEVILLA striker Fredi Kanoute was a happy man after drawing level with Davor Suker as the most prolific foreigner in the Andalusian club's history, although the Mali international insists it was not something he was obsessing about.
Kanoute scored the only goal of last night's derby win over fourth-bottom Recreativo Huelva to take his recent tally to 11 in the last eight games and move on to 90 in his Sevilla career.
When asked about the feat following the game, a phlegmatic Kanoute said: "It's more a thing for you than me. I didn't think about it at kick-off, but now I've achieved it I'm very happy and proud."
Kanoute's successful 32nd-minute penalty against Recre means third-placed Sevilla now boast a nine-point lead over fourth-placed Villarreal, who suffered a 3-0 mauling at the hands of Almeria last night.
Sevilla coach Manolo Jimenez said: "This victory was very important, against a team who played well and who if they play with the same intensity in the rest of their games will get out of trouble.
"With regards to Sevilla, I think we were sensational in terms of our intensity and attitude."
