Promoted back to the first division at the first attempt after finishing second to Yokohama FC in J2 last season, Kashiwa made a clear statement of intent with a rampant performance against last year's fifth-place finishers.

Brazilian forward Franca put the hosts ahead in the 25th minute, slotting home from close range after Tatsuya Suzuki`s effort rebounded off the post.

Reysol extended their advantage 13 minutes after the break when the speedy Minoru Suganuma beat his marker on the left flank and cut into the box before firing home the goal of the day.

Five minutes later, the 21-year-old winger blasted in another powerful drive from the left, which forced a good save out of Jubilo goalkeeper Yohei Sato, but fell kindly for Franca to score his second goal of the game from a tight angle.

Suganuma, who has just returned to Kashiwa after being on loan at J2 side Ehime FC for the past two seasons, sealed an excellent personal performance by netting his second goal to make it 4-0 in the 77th minute.

Kashiwa manager Nobuhiro Ishizaki played down the decisive margin of victory, saying: "This is a wonderful result for us but I've seen some problems that need to be fixed.

"That's more important to us now, and I believe that none of our players are satisfied only with winning today's game."

In the only other J.League fixture on Sunday, Nagoya Grampus Eight beat JEF United Chiba 2-0 at home to take third spot.

Korean midfielder Kim Jung Woo gave Nagoya the lead in the 77th minute, and Japan Olympic team midfielder Keisuke Honda added the clinching goal shortly before the final whistle.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima are in second place after a 4-2 win at FC Tokyo on Saturday while champions Urawa Reds are fourth after downing Yokohama F.Marinos.

Urawa will make their AFC Champions League debut on Wednesday at home to Indonesian league champions Persik Kediri, while Kawasaki Frontale, who downed Kashima Antlers 1-0 on Saturday, visit Java to face Arema Malang.
