SOCCEROO Brett Emerton has been praised by his Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean for his contribution to the side during their fight against relegation from the Premier League.
Emerton scored in last weekend's 1-1 draw against Manchester United, while he also provided the assist for Blackburn's goal in the 1-1 draw at West Ham United earlier in the month.
"Brett is playing really well, not only is he chipping in with important goals, he is also going past people and putting dangerous crosses in," Keen told the club's official website.
"And when the ball is at the other side of the pitch he is tucking in to give us a real good disciplined performance in the middle of the pitch.
"His energy is fantastic, he is in a good run form, I'm delighted for him."
Blackburn, who are still not safe from the drop, go to 16th-placed Wolverhampton in a crucial match on Sunday.
Emerton said after last weekend's man-of-the-match performance draw with Manchester United he was happy the club's future was in their hands.
"We have to go to Wolves and get a result there," Emerton said. "We are in the driver's seat out of all those teams down the bottom.
"We would prefer to be wearing a Blackburn Rovers shirt that's for sure. It's all in our own hands, we've got a good goal difference so I'm still positive that we will keep ourselves safe and be in the premier league next season."
