SOCCEROOS midfielder Brett Emerton's hamstring injury may not be as bad as first suspected with Blackburn manager Steve Kean saying the Aussie could be back within a fortnight.
The Australia international's availability for next month's World Cup qualifiers against Thailand and Saudi Arabia was in doubt after he picked up a hamstring strain and missed the second half of Blackburn's 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton in Premier League on Saturday.
Emerton is due to receive the results of scans in midweek which will show the extent of the damage but Kean was hopeful it isn't too serious.
“I think it will be nine or 10 days if it’s a grade one hamstring. You never know, it might settle down,” Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph.
However, Emerton is doubtful for Blackburn's trip to Aston Villa next weekend.
