BUENOS AIRES, March 13 (Clausura) - Boca Juniors president Mauricio Macri admits it will be "difficult" to lure Juan Roman Riquelme to the club on a permanent basis.
The 28-year-old rejoined the Buenos Aires outfit on loan until the end of the season from Villarreal in February.
The playmaker, who spent six years at Boca before moving to Barcelona in 2002, made the switch after falling out of favour at Villarreal this season.
But Macri told Radio La Red: "It will be very difficult to retain Roman.
"I would love Riquelme to stay in Boca, but it is very difficult really.
"It does not depend on ourselves, but on him."
Riquelme insists he does not know whether he will return to the Estadio El Madrigal or stay with Boca when his loan deal expires in June.
"I cannot tell anybody anything. I would not like to put pressure on Boca to decide whether I'm staying here or not," he said.
"I don't know what will happen with me."
