Brazilian striker Keirrison hopes to follow in the footsteps of some of his great compatriots after signing a five-year contract with Barcelona.
The prolific 20-year-old arrived in Catalonia today after Barca reached an agreement with Palmeiras and he will undergo a medical with the treble winners tomorrow.
Barca will pay Palmeiras an initial 14million euros with the possibility of an additional two million euros depending on first-team appearances.
Keirrison told fcbarcelona.cat: "I've always followed Barca and the great Brazilian footballers who have played here. Since I was a boy I've carried Barca in my heart and at the age of 20 I have the pleasure of playing at this great club.
"I'm very happy to be here and fulfil my dream of signing for the best club in the world. Over the next five years I hope to play some great football and give my all for Barca.
"I'm lucky enough to join Barca at a very young age. I have time to show what I can do and help Barca win titles. I hope to earn a place in the team just like the other Brazilian forwards that played for Barca."
Barca boss Pep Guardiola confirmed the youngster will be sent out on loan next season, though his destination is yet to be decided.
"He's very young. He got some great statistics. It's difficult to find a goalscorer," said Guardiola.
"The club has decided to sign him but in principle he'll go out on loan. I won't be counting on him for this season. It has not yet been revealed where he will play."
