The Socceroos striker took his J.League tally to ten goals with a strike in the opening half of the clash at Yokohama.

The goal came on 37 minutes, when Kennedy turned on the edge of the box before side-footing a shot which confused the Yokohama goalkeeper and went in for the opener.

Two minutes earlier Kennedy had a header cleared off the line, while moments after his strike the Aussie delivered a lovely throughball which put Mu Kanazaki in but he shot straight at the keeper.

On 68 minutes, Danilson Cordoba doubled Nagoya's lead with a long-range effort which the Yokohama keeper again might have done better with.

The result takes Nagoya Grampus into second place, above Eddy Bosnar's Shimizu S-Pulse who face Shonan Bellmare on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the J.League, Socceroos prospect Matt Spiranovic put in a full shift in defence as Urawa Reds slipped to their third defeat in four matches with a 1-0 home loss to struggling Omiya Ardija.

In Japan's J2.League, Mark Milligan wasn't in the JEF United Chiba side which thumped Oita Trinita 5-0. JEF United are now third in the race for promotion.

In Korea's K-League, Sasa Ognenovski played a full game in defence, picking up a booking, as Seongnam Ilhwa slumped to a 3-1 home loss to Daegu FC. Seongnam slip to fifth.

In Singapore's S-League, Goran Subara put in a full shift in midfield as Gombak United drew 0-0 at Balestier Khalsa.
