SOCCEROOS striker Joshua Kennedy believes Pim Verbeek got his tactics wrong in the Germany defeat which ultimately led to Australia's early exit from the 2010 World Cup.
Kennedy, who didn't play against the Germans but started in the win over Serbia, arrived back home yesterday and spoke to reporters at Sydney Airport.
"Definitely I expected to play but it didn't turn out that way," he said.
"We lost 4-0 so obviously those tactics for that game plan didn't work."
He continued: "Me up front with Timmy (Cahill) behind, it's always worked.
"He's always scored or I've always scored goals when we've played together.
"At times it's not the prettiest football but it works. We showed it worked against Serbia."
