SOCCEROO Joshua Kennedy scored his 15th goal of the Japanese J.League season to help Nagoya Grampus to a 3-1 victory over Vissel Kobe on Friday afternoon.
The prolific Australian, who scored three goals for the Socceroos in the recent World Cup qualifiers against Saudi Arabia and Thailand, netted Nagoya's third goal in the win which moves them within a point of leaders Gamba Osaka who host struggling Ventforet Kofu on Saturday.
Vissel went ahead on four minutes through Park Kang-Ho, before Marcus Tulio Tanaka headed in an equaliser on 10 minutes.
Jungo Fujimoto put Grampus ahead just past the hour mark, before Kennedy added a third on 81 minutes.
The Socceroos striker sealed the points when he converted Kensuke Nagai's cross.
Kennedy, who finished equal topscorer with Ryoichi Maeda in the J.League last season, now is two strikes clear of Mike Havenaar in the Golden Boot race.
