AUSSIES ABROAD: Joshua Kennedy took his Japanese J.League season tally to nine goals with a strike as Nagoya Grampus defeated Avispa Fukuoka 3-0 on Sunday.
The beanpole Australian striker coolly slotted in Nagoya's third goal in the 90th minute from a spot kick.
Kennedy has now scored three goals in Nagoya's past four matches, as the champions extend their winning streak to five matches and their unbeaten run to 12 matches.
Third-placed Nagoya are only four points behind leaders Yokohama F. Marinos.
Earlier, Keiji Tamada gave Nagoya the lead, before Jungo Fujimoto doubled their advantage after Kennedy mistimed his shot at the near post.
In Denmark's Superliga, Brent McGrath made his first start for the season as Brondby were humbled 4-1 at home by Horsens on Sunday. McGrath played a full game but faded after a lively first-half.
In Germany's DFB Pokal, Robbie Kruse was a 56th-minute substitute as Fortuna Dusseldorf won 3-0 at Hessen Kassel on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Nikita Rukavytsya was absent as Hertha BSC easily accounted for Meuselwitz 4-0.
In Scotland's Premier League, Ryan McGowan played a full game in defence as Hearts lost 1-0 at home to Dundee United on Sunday.
