The Herald Sun claims the 28-year-old beanpole striker is back in Australia for intensive treatment on the injury which has been an ongoing problem for the Nagoya Grampus man.

It is believed FFA sources said Kennedy was undergoing daily physiotherapy on the complaint and they would seek advice on the long-term effects of the striker playing in the Asian Cup.

Kennedy recently completed club duties with Japanese champions Nagoya where the Socceroo finished joint J.League topscorer with 17 goals.
