Glory needed two goals inside the final 20 minutes from the Irishman and Adam Taggart to edge the Mariners who dominated possession 57% to 43% and opened the scoring through Wout Brama.

Perth had claimed one point in their opening two matches, both away from home, before the key win at nib Stadium.

"I think a win like this breeds confidence," Keogh told Fox Sports.

"They outplayed us for the first half hour. We were chasing shadows.

"To come away with three points after that, it gives us great confidence.

"It shows what good team spirit we have and belief. We'll keep working hard and the points will come our way."

Keogh acknowledged the Mariners made Perth work for their win.

"It's the first win of the season, that's the most mportant thing," Keogh said.

"Fair play to Central Coast, they played some good football. They made us work for those three points."

Keogh defended Glory's sluggish performance, stating they did creating some chances.

"The lads came in late as well so they're trying to get to know how we play," he said.

"We created chances today, Tags had a couple in the first half, I had a couple in the second half. We are getting in behind defences.

"I think with a bit more sharpness and match fitness we'll be a little bit more lethal."

Perth are away to champions Sydney FC on Friday night.
