Perth Glory super striker Andy Keogh admits his spell in Thailand was a wake up call about what he wanted from life – and it was more than just money.
In the new issue of FourFourTwo, the record-breaking goalscoring who made A-League history when he struck in eight consecutive games last season, reveals his hopes for this campaign.
And he admits the decision to return to Australia last Christmas was a no-brainer when Perth Glory came calling again.
"I was bored," he tells the A-League preview special issue of FourFourTwo. "I wanted to start playing some decent football again, and be in a professional environment, which I wasn't.
"I wouldn't say I was refreshed but I was raring to go. I was bored and maybe I can hold that to scoring eight in a row – the hunger came roaring back to me.
"I realised what football was all about again...and it certainly wasn't about money in Thailand."
