Matildas striker Samantha Kerr scored a hat-trick on Sunday morning (AEST) to become the all-time leading goalscorer in the United States’ National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
Kerr scored a devastating hat-trick in the final 15 minutes as Sky Blue came from 2-0 behind to win 3-2 over Kansas City.
The 23-year-old Australian’s goals took her to 34 career strikes in the NWSL, moving ahead of Jessica McDonald (33) and Kim Little (32) in the process.

Kerr is equal top scorer this season with nine goals for Sky Blue who sit third on the league table.
The Perth Glory talent has also provided three assists this season for the New Jersey-based club.
