Matildas superstar Sam Kerr is on course to set a new NWSL goal scoring record after netting her 16th of the season.
Kerr struck the winner in the fifth minute of Sky Blue FC’s 1-0 victory over Boston Breakers on Sunday (AEST).
The 23-year-old slipped past the goalkeeper and fired into an empty net to match Kim Little’s all-time record for the most goals in a single campaign.
She had several other opportunities during the match to add to her tally and with four games left in the season will fancy her chances of making the record her own.
Kerr is four goals ahead of nearest Golden Boot rival Megan Rapinoe of Seattle Reign.
The Aussie's New Jersey outfit are currently sitting in fifth spot on the National Women's Soccer League ladder.
