Kerr opened the scoring with a header from a 23rd minute corner, before Tameka Butt's deflected effort made it 2-0 on 53 minutes.

Ten minutes later, Kerr unleashed a powerful strike which nestled into the top corner.

"It was one of those ones that once you hit it you just know," Kerr told Fox Sports.

"That keeper is pretty tall so I thought she might have a chance but it just drifted perfectly for me."

She added: "I just knew I had to hit it. It sat up nicely for me off the throw-in. Once i hit it, I just knew. it went away from the goalkeeper."

Kerr's first goal was less spectacular, working her way into position at the back post to head home from Emily van Egmond's corner.

"We've been working on set-pieces," Kerr said. "It's sometihng we're trying to become really strong at.

"It was a great ball by Em. I just got my head on it and it went in."

Kerr added that she was delighted with the team's performance.

"We had a clean sheet," she said. "It's something we've been working towards.

"We're really happy with that performance. I thought everyone was really good.

"Overall it was a good team performance."
