HARRY Kewell is an injury doubt for the Socceroos World Cup qualifier against Qatar with a groin strain.
Kewell missed Galatasaray's 2-1 league defeat at the weekend and Pim Verbeek is expected to discuss the situation with the player before the squad is due to assemble in Brisbane on Wednesday.
The coach is unlikely to take a risk on the player while Vince Grella is also far from certain to be part of the squad.
Verbeek is due to cut several players tomorrow from his initial 35-strong party for the Qatar game next week.
It remains to be seen whether Kewell and/or Grella are among those told their services will not be required.
