Gary Bowyer, John Askey, Darren Ferguson, Paul Scholes, Owen Coyle and Kevin Nolan have all been publicly linked with the job.

According to The Oldham Chronicle, Kewell is also being considered for the position.

The Australian was axed from his role at Notts County in November.

Kewell had spent just 10 weeks with Notts.
