In today's Sunday Telegraph, Kewell has his say and insists he has no problem with anyone expressing an opinion - whether he agrees with it or not.

However, he remains adamant about the whole 'dinner' saga and as for Slater, believes his own record stacks up rather well against that of Slater.

"What I find disgusting is people who use gossip to dress up their personal opinions and agendas and try to sell them as fact to the public," said Kewell.

"Before you write me off so quickly, Robbie, it may be worth considering that I have scored 29 goals in 66 games over the past two years.

"I have just had my contract extended by my Turkish club Galatasaray even though I'm almost 32."

Kewell then goes on to question Slater's own exploits in Europe and how big a part he played in Blackburn's title success of 1995.

As for the future, Kewell is adamant that he remains determined to play a part for Australia and has vowed to do his talking on the pitch.

"I will continue to let my boots do most of my talking and let the Australian coach do the selecting as he sees fit," he added.

But the Sunday Telegraph also sees Slater have his say again. He remains defiant, standing by his original piece and also labelled talk surrounding Graham Arnold as 'disgraceful'.

"Harry and his manager clearly think everyone should fall into line and pretend everything is rosy even when perhaps it isn't," said Slater in his column.
