IN the wake of quotes from Kewell’s exclusive ‘Blueprint’ for Australian football feature in the November issue of FourFourTwo making national headlines, the Socceroo has exclaimed his piece needs to be read in full to be completely understood.
Excerpts from his ‘Blueprint' feature, which Kewell undertook as Guest Editor of FourFourTwo for our fifth birthday issue, out tomorrow, had aroused mainstream interest with the implication that Kewell was attacking the FFA's Dutch approach and its dedication to a 4-3-3 formation at every level of the local game.
However, Harry has got in touch to state that his FourFourTwo ‘Blueprint' feature has to be read in full before people draw conclusions about his stance.
"I have never criticised Dutch football or coaching in any way, or the FFA," Kewell told au.fourfourtwo.com. "If you read my article there is nothing to suggest otherwise.
"My two favourite coaches - Hiddink and Rijkaard - are Dutch, while my favourite player, Marco Van Basten, is also Dutch and they all feature in [my edition of] the magazine. How anyone can come up with a conclusion that I am anti-Dutch and anti-FFA from that is beyond me."
You can read Harry's piece in full when his Guest Editor souvenir fifth birthday issue hits newsstands tomorrow.
