SOCCEROO Harry Kewell is staying in Turkey next season after signing an extension to his contract with Galatasaray, the club confirmed today.
The Superlig side's website today carried a full screen picture of the former Liverpool and Leeds United star and proudly proclaimed in English: "My name is Kewell, Kewell from Galatasaray."
It's understood Kewell's new deal is for one year and is still only in principle until routine medical tests have been carried out.
Kewell has been a huge success at Galatasaray after ending his troubled five years with Liverpool.
Even despite missing almost the entire back end of last season through injury, Kewell was a huge hit with the Turkish fans who mounted a massive campaign for the club to re-sign him.
Kewell had been linked with an off-season move to Valenica in the Spanish Primera Liga earlier in the year, but Gala and the Socceroo have now managed to agree a deal to keep him in Turkey.
