AUSSIES ABROAD: Socceroo Harry Kewell scored his first goal since mid-September but it was mere consolation as Galatasaray lost 2-1 to Besiktas in Turkey's Super Lig overnight.
The 32-year-old Aussie attacker scored in stoppage-time with a fine header from the edge of the box after Mehmet Batdal's cross.
Kewell's goal, his second this season, was too late though with Guti and Mert Nobre scoring earlier for Besiktas, who condemned 11th-placed Galatasaray to their seventh defeat of the season.
Kewell and fellow Socceroo Lucas Neill both played full games in the defeat.
Elsewhere in Turkey, Mile Jedinak as absent due to injury as Genclerbirligi drew 1-1 with Sivasspor on Saturday.
