Harry Kewell insists he and the rest of the Australia squad are behind coach Graham Arnold despite their qualification chances for the Asian Cup knockout stage hanging in the balance.
The Socceroos have only one point from two games and must defeat Thailand - who have four points - on Monday to stand a chance of making it through.
After the game against Iraq, Arnold questioned a number of his players' desire to be at the AFC Asian Cup.
But Liverpool forward Kewell insists the players are fully committed to the competition and are keen to make things right in their final group game.
"We are all behind him, we know that we have let him down twice now," said the 28-year-old.
"If by some chance we can pull through against Thailand, then all credit to him.
"I think everyone not only feels sorry for the manager but for the team as well."
Kewell stressed the blame did not lay just with the manager, but with the team as a whole.
He added: "You can't blame the referee, you can't blame the manager, the only people you can blame are the 11 players that are out there and we were not good enough, it was as simple as that,
"We can only go out there and try to play better than we did. We can't even look towards the next round after the way we played.
"Players need to pull their finger out and I am no exception. My own performance was poor, but we have got to sit down and turn this around."
