SOCCEROO Harry Kewell has revealed he's ashamed that Australia couldn't go beyond the group stage in South Africa after bowing out early in the 2010 World Cup.
Speaking to Fox Sports, Kewell claimed he was shattered by Australia's early exit as he believed the current crop of players was capable of reaching the final 16.
"Even though they say everyone's proud of us, we're all ashamed that we didn't make it through it to the next round," he said.
"We are, we've got enough talent in that team to go through to the last 16."
Kewell, who turns 32 in September, also reiterated his stance he wants to go to another World Cup in four years time.
"I don't really want my World Cup to end on a red card," Kewell added. "So I will try.
"I will try to be there, if I do make it fantastic, but if I don't, I know that the boys that are going to take my position will do Australia proud."
The Australian international also revealed his devastation at receiving his marching orders against Ghana.
"I felt like getting the ball and booting it over the stand," he said.
"Getting my boots, throwing it at him (the referee), just sitting in the middle of the park and not moving.
"Throwing all my toys out of the cot and saying 'I'm not moving' ".
