EXCLUSIVE: Young Australian players are set to showcase their three v three skills when the US-based Kick It 3v3 competition comes to town.
It's planned to host an Australian tournament in Sydney next March with other cities such as Gold Coast or Townsville potentially hosting their own roadshows later in the year.
Based on a similar idea to the 3v3 basketball tournament Hoop It Up, the Kick It competition is a nationwide competition played across the US.
Tapping into the large numbers of players at grassroots level, games are short and sharp and are played without keepers. Kick It is predominantly played by juniors but could also be tailored for youth talent.
The finals of Kick It in the US will be played at Disney World in Florida in January with an estimated 6000 players attending.
