OLYROOS midfielder Neil Kilkenny has been told he may have to wait for his chance at Leeds United this season.
Having returned home from the Beijing Olympics, the youngster faces a tough fight to force his way into Gary McAllister's first XI.
Leeds are not short of midfielders in their squad as the Whites look to mount a promotion charge.
The Leeds boss told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I don't think he's (Kilkenny) under any illusions.
"He knows it's very competitive here, and moreso in his area of the pitch.
"We've got seven or eight top-quality midfielders for this level. He should be in good physical condition but he's maybe a player to watch further down the line."
