AUSSIES ABROAD: Socceroo Neil Kilkenny had a second-half strike disallowed as Bristol City drew 0-0 with Portsmouth in England's Championship on Saturday.
On 65 minutes the Australian bundled the ball home for what seemed to be the winner for the Robins, but the goal was disallowed for a foul on Pompey keeper Jamie Ashdown.
The incident came just 10 minutes after Kilkenny had weaved his way past two Portsmouth defenders before curling a shot just beyond the bar.
However, the disallowed goal was the talking point with Kilkenny, making his third start for Bristol since his move from Leeds United, insisting it wasn't a foul.
"The ball came in and I didn't touch the goalkeeper. It was a goal in my opinion and I couldn't believe it when he ruled it out," Kilkenny told the club's website.
Bristol boss Keith Millen added: "Neil Kilkenny had the ball in the back of the net and I didn't think that was a foul.Neil isn't a six-foot-plus big centre-half, he's just got there and the keeper's let it go. I'd like to see that again."
Elsewhere, Mile Jedinak made his full debut for Crystal Palace, playing 75 minutes in the 1-0 win at Hull City.
Meanwhile in the Premier League, Socceroo Tim Cahill was guilty of missing a few chances as Everton went down 1-0 at home to newly promoted QPR.
Finally in the Dutch Eredivisie, Tommy Oar came close to scoring early on as FC Utrecht went down 2-1 to Vitesse Arnhem. Michael Zullo missed the game due to injury, while Adam Sarota made his first start for the season, playing a full game.
