WITH high flying Slovakia in pole position to qualify for next year's World Cup, Sydney FC's Slovak midfielder Karol Kisel is dreaming of a date with the Socceroos in South Africa.
Kisel, 32, has been capped 25 times by his country who are currently top of group three in Europe on 15 points with four group games left.
In second spot on 13 points currently is Northern Ireland - the nation of Kisel's midfield partner Terry McFlynn. Second bottom of the group is the Czech Republic.
McFlynn's Ulstermen play the Slovaks on September 9. With just two points currently separating the two it looms as a crunch match in Belfast.
Kisel hasn't played for the Slovaks since Vladimir Weiss took the coaching reins a year ago, but, like McFlynn, hasn't given up hope of an international recall.
If they did join Australia in South Africa, for Kisel, it would be a neat tie up if the two nations met. - and he'd be ideally placed to pass on first hand knowledge of Socceroos such as Jason Culina.
"I'm just a fan now, but we will see. When we play Australia in World Cup I will be involved," Kisel said with a smile before training today.
"I'm not sure if the coach will call me, we will see. But my dream is to play Australia at the World Cup, but it's a long way to go."
On the local scene, Kisel has been impressed by what he's seen so far in Australia, with the former Sparta Prague man keen to talk up a league Culina publicly lauded earlier this week.
