SOCCEROOS defender Paddy Kisnorbo has secured his future at Leeds United after signing a new two-year contract with the English Championship club.
The 30-year-old Australian had come out of contract at Elland Road recently after missing all but the final 10 minutes of the 2010-11 season due to an Achilles injury sustained in March 2010.
There had been doubts that Kisnorbo, who won Leeds' 2009-10 Player of the Year award, had fully recovered from the injury after an off-season spent undergoing rehab.
However, Kisnorbo returned to training last week and Leeds boss Simon Grayson has had any doubts about the Australian's fitness erased prompting the offer of a new contract.
"We're delighted to get things finalised with Paddy. He's had a tough time, but we know what he is all about and what he brings to the team. He is a very important member of our squad,” Grayson told leedsunited.com.
"The deal shows the commitment of both the club and Paddy and it's great to have him back with everyone after being out for so long."
Kisnorbo had also been linked with Crystal Palace but his preference was to stay at Leeds.
The Aussie has been named as part of Leeds' 24-man squad for a trip to Scotland where they will face Falkirk on Wednesday and Motherwell on Saturday.
