Rumours were rife that the Australian centre-half would be ruled out for the rest of the campaign, and potentially the World Cup, after he was sent to see a specialist in London about the Achilles problem last Friday.

But Grayson insists Kisnorbo, who hasn't played since January 26, is on the road to recovery and is a chance to play this weekend.

"There's nothing serious with Paddy's injury. I don't know where that (speculation) came from," Grayson told the Yorkshire Evening Post earlier this week.

"He's had an injection to calm it down and by the middle of the week he should be back training, ready for the weekend.

"He and Jermaine (Beckford) have got little niggles. They're not too bad but missing a few days or the odd game could mean that we don't lose them for five or six weeks at a critical stage of the season.

"We don't take chances on players, regardless of who they are and why would we? That's why we've got a good squad - to make sure we can cope."

During Kisnorbo's absence, promotion-chasing Leeds have managed just two wins in six matches, crashing out of both the Johnstone's Paint Trophy and FA Cup, so news of his return will be a major boost.

Second-placed Leeds host relegation threatened Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday in League One.
