Kisnorbo will miss United's League One clash with Stockport County this weekend as he prepares for Australia's friendly against South Korea.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson stated recently that he understood how important the World Cup was to Kisnorbo - an international stance not every club manager has chosen to take - especially when matches are being played on the other side of the world.

However much Kisnorbo wants to play his part in helping Leeds win promotion this season, his passion for green and gold burns as strong as the white of United.

"It's hard for me to be missing out because the club and the team are doing so well, but I have to do this for my country. I want to be in the World Cup team," Kisnorbo told the Yorkshire Evening Post. "That was a boyhood dream for me and I'd imagine it is for anyone when they start playing football.

"Your aim is to play at the highest level possible and to represent your country in the World Cup. It's been on my list of ambitions for a very long time."

Kisnorbo just hopes this weekend results in a win-win outcome with both the Socceroos and his club side clocking up victories.

He added: "It creates mixed emotions in a way when it's your club versus your country and unfortunately (Leeds) don't have international breaks, but it's something I have to deal with and hopefully I'll come back and there'll be another win behind us."
