Reports from New Zealand this morning claim the Wellington bid for a spot in the A-League will be accepted by FFA.
The New Zealand Herald reported that the New Zealand franchise will "get over the line" according to outgoing FFA operations manager Matt Carroll.
It's understood the John Dow-lead Wellington bid has been able to secure a financial backer and an announcement on their acceptance into the A-League will happen in the next 24-48hrs.
When au.fourfourtwo.com contacted Tropical Football bid head James Gage this afternoon he said he was still waiting to hear whether the Kiwis had won the franchise.
"I haven’t heard from the FFA, but as I said all along if Wellington come up with the financial backing, they will probably make it across the line. And I say good luck to them," he said.
