Gold Coast United striker Shane Smeltz, who scored the opener against Italy, and Denmark-based defender Winston Reid, the goalscorer against Slovakia, have already been linked with switches.

Smeltz, who carries a German passport, yesterday hinted to the Gold Coast Bulletin a move was in the mix.

"At the end of the day I know a couple of things I can't say right now, I just have to wait and see if they develop properly," he said.

Meanwhile, speculation has linked Reid with English giants Arsenal and Italian Serie A outfit Palermo, although the former Denmark youth international was cool on the interest.

"I haven't spoken with Palermo and my agent hasn't told me anything,'' he said.

"Palermo is a big club in Italy and my friend (Simon Kjaer) plays there. I would like it there, but there's been no contact."

Reid, who was a stand-out for the All Whites in South Africa, also reiterated his commitment to the national team.

"I want to represent New Zealand and help New Zealand out," he said.

"I'm coming back to play for New Zealand Football. My idea is that I am going to play for New Zealand as much as possible.

"I have to go back and talk to the club, hopefully I can go on. I don't think anything will happen until after the World Cup is finished. I will see what happens."
