The midfielder, who is currently playing for Richmond in the Victorian Premier League, has had a number of ups and downs in his short career to date.

Taseski was just 18-years of age when he guided Altona Magic to the VPL championship and was awarded the Jimmy Rooney medal for man of the match in the grand final.

His performances earned him a contract with Melbourne Victory’s youth team, before being picked up by Heart for their inaugural season.

He made his debut against English Premier League side Everton, but only managed four appearances throughout the 2010-11 A-League season.

Due to his limited chances during the campaign, he was then loaned out to South Melbourne in VPL for the A-League off-season to gain some match experience.

While on loan, Taseski’s fortunes then took a turn for the worse when he broke his foot during one of his last games of the loan stint.

Taseski spent months on the sidelines, forced to sit out the majority of the last season of his contract, before making his return in the National Youth League in February of that season.

But Taseski he was released by the club a few months later before John Aloisi took over as head coach of the club after the departure of John van’t Schip.

“Devastating is definitely an adjective I would use,” says Kliment about his exit from Heart. “It’s tough when it happens to you.

“Looking back on it now though, it’s only been a good thing for me because I’ve learnt so much as a player after having that experience of being let go.

“You learn what it was that could have been better and I’m much richer for that experience, even though it was a disappointing one.”

After being released by Heart, Taseski joined Moreland Zebras for the second-half of the 2012 VPL season.

Despite a lack of appearances due to coming in late, Taseski still managed to take out the U21 VPL player of the year award.

But with Moreland relegated to State League 1 after finishing second-last, Taseski moved on and signed with Richmond for the 2013 VPL season.

Richmond endured a tough start to the season and Didier Imbert was replaced as manager, just four games in, after Richmond were thrashed 7-2 at home against league-leaders Northcote City.

Former Melbourne Victory midfielder Grant Brebner then took over as manager, but Richmond still went on to lose their next five games before finally managing a victory against fellow relegated side Southern Stars.

Despite being in a relatively uncompetitive side, Taseski has still been able to show glimpses of his potential, notching up four goals and a number of assists so far this campaign.

“I’ve enjoyed my time at Richmond because it’s been a great club to be at, surrounded by a good group of boys,” said Taseski.

“(Brebner) is also a guy with a whole load of experience and he’s able to pass it on to us which means not only me but everyone is getting the best out of that.

“I only wish that we had started doing as well as we are now a bit earlier in the season.”

But Taseski has his eyes set on the A-League and admits there’s only one way for him to get back to the top level in Australia.

“The best option for me is to play in the local leagues,” admits Taseski. “I can’t go overseas because I don’t have access to a European passport like a number of other players in Australia do.

“I hope that people will come to watch or hear of this player in the league that is doing well, and hopefully that will be me.

“I also am aware of the fact that individual accolades don’t always result in recognition too, so it’s a matter of being part of a team that’s successful.

“That’s all I want to do – I want to win games with a team regardless of where that might be because at the end of the day the only thing that counts is about the team.

“If the team is doing well, then you’re doing well.”
