Sahin suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's 1-0 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen but could yet play a part at the Stade Velodrome.

Despite being positive about Sahin's chances of featuring, Klopp will not bring the midfielder back into action sooner than is safe.

"The injury is not problematic, the problem is the time," Klopp said on Tuesday.

"We won’t risk anything but it would be good if it worked."

Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will look for his second Champions League goal of the season against Marseille, as the Bundesliga outfit seek to qualify for the last 16.

A win over Marseille would see Klopp's men through, while a draw could be sufficient, and Aubameyang is confident against a side that have lost all five of their group games.

"Marseille are in a bad phase. It is up to us to take advantage of this. This will be difficult but we are confident and determined. We are motivated to play and qualify," he said.

"This game is crucial in the qualifying run. Despite the injuries I trust our defence and I am sure tomorrow will be a good game.

"Our game is an attacking one. We play with a lot of intensity; this is our strength."
