The 30-year-old has played his last game for PSV Eindhoven after the club announced his contract would not be extended.

Kluivert, who had spells with Barcelona, AC Milan, Newcastle and Valencia, has received interest from foreign clubs including ones from the A-League, but wants to see out his career with the Amsterdam giants. Indeed, Kluivert began his career at Ajax.

"There is only club in Holland where I want to play for and that is Ajax," said Kluivert, who scored the winning goal in Ajax's 1995 European Cup final win.

Since arriving at the Philips Stadion last summer, his season has been blighted by problems with his knee.

But Kluivert, the all-time leading goalscorer for the Oranje with 40 goals in 79 internationals, feels he still has plenty to offer in the Eredivisie.

"It's not the knee of an 18-year-old, but that doesn't mean that I'm worn out," he told De Pers newspaper.

"My ambition still is playing football. On the pitch I feel like a fish in the water!"
