Victorian Training Centre 0
South Melbourne 6
(Daniel Vasilevski (3), Steven O’Dor (2), Meyer Carlos De Camargo Junior)
@ SS Anderson Reserve

SOUTH Melbourne moved back into the top five as they handed Victorian Training Centre another 6-0 thrashing.

It was the third time this season the youngsters, who have lost nine games on the trot, have conceded half a dozen goals.

Midfielder Daniel Vasilevski struck a hat-trick, while captain Steven O’Dor hit a double and defender Meyer Carlos De Camargo Junior scored his first goal for the club.

Vasilevski and O’Dor both found the net inside nine minutes and Junior made it 3-0 a little after the half hour mark.

Vasilevski found the net twice more in the second half, either side of O’Dor completing his brace, to take his tally to four for the season.

The congestion in the top half of the table saw South skip from eighth to third ahead of the weekend.

Hume City 1 (Richard Cardozo)
Dandenong Thunder 1 (Acim Tomic)
@ Broadmeadows Valley Park

HUME City moved top of the table as they extended their uneaten run to seven with a 1-1 draw against Dandenong Thunder.

Thunder lead at half time for the seventh time this season, but Hume became the first team to snatch anything out of Dandenong after Acim Tomic scored after half an hour.

Hume striker Richard Cardozo struck the equaliser in the 65th minute to move top of the goalscoring charts with his 10th of the season.

City are top on the back of the result, but second-placed Oakleigh have a game in hand, while Dandenong sit outside the top five.

Richmond 1 (Own goal)
Northcote City 1 (Kristian Konstantinidis)
@ Kevin Bartlett Reserve

NORTHCOTE City clung onto fifth spot after playing out a 1-1 draw with Richmond.

City were forced to come from behind at Kevin Bartlett Reserve and remained fifth with three chasing sides.

An own goal from Northcote defender Adriano Chiappetta put the Eagles ahead, before Kristian Konstantinidis equalised moments later.

Richmond are ninth with finals hopes all but dashed, while Northcote are holding off Dandenong, Green Gully and Bentleigh.

St Albans Saints 1 (Louis Fenton)
Green Gully Cavaliers 3 (Mathew Sanders (2), Jason Hayne)
@ Churchill Reserve

GREEN Gully made it seven-straight games unbeaten with a 3-1 win over the St Albans Saints.

After a poor start to the season, the Cavaliers are now within two points of the top five and could yet defend their title.

Striker Mathew Sanders got a start and made the most of it with a brace, while Jason Hayne was again on the scoresheet.

Sanders scored twice in the first half to put the Cavaliers ahead, but Louis Fenton pulled a goal back for the winless Saints moments after the interval.

A delightful pass from Graham Hockless sent Hayne through 25 minutes from the end and he made it 3-1.

St Albans are 12 points from safety and look destined to be relegated back to State League One.

South Melbourne 0
Heidelberg United 0

@ John Cain Memorial Park

SOUTH Melbourne and Heidelberg United played out a 0-0 draw as both teams maintained their spots in the top five.

South striker Jesse Krncevic again received his marching orders, as he did against Hume earlier in the season, as neither side was able to break the deadlock.

United played the last half hour against 10 men but could not find a winner, remaining fourth, a spot behind South.

Melbourne Knights 5 (Jacob Colosimo (2), Mathieu-Luc Welmant (2), Josip Magdic)
Springvale White Eagles 0
@ Knights Stadium

MELBOURNE Knights moved three points clear of relegation with a 5-0 belting of the Springvale White Eagles.

Forward Jacob Colosimo and attacker Mathieu-Luc Welmant scored braces, while attacking midfielder Josip Magdic also found the back of the net.

A Yusuf Yusuf cross found Welmant to head in the opener on the stroke of half time, before the Knights dominated the second 45.

Colosimo added two in the space of 10 minutes midway through the second half before Welmant and Magdic found the net in the 83rd and 87th minutes respectively.

It gave coach Paul Magdic his first win in charge and put the Knights a win clear of the struggling White Eagles.
