NEWCASTLE Jets target Nathan Burns has opted against an A-League return and instead penned a deal with Korean outfit Incheon United.
The K-League club confirmed the deal for the 23-year-old Socceroo on the club's website on Friday.
Former Adelaide United man Burns, who revealed he had left AEK Athens late last week after three-and-a-half years in Greece, has signed a three-year contract.
Burns, who has seven caps for Australia and was part of the 2011 Asian Cup squad, had struggled for game time at AEK during the 2011-12 season prompting the move.
Incheon finished 13th in the 16-team K-League last season, however the team coached by former Korea boss Huh Jung-Moo recently signed ex-national team veterans Seol Ki-Hyeon and Kim Nam-Il, along with Brazilian Ferdinando.
United managed just 31 goals in 30 games last term and Burns is expected to add firepower to their attack.
Burns joins Sasa Ognenovski, Luke DeVere, Iain Fyfe, Robbie Cornthwaite, Eddy Bosnar and Matt Simon as Australians plying their trade in South Korea.
The 2012 K-League season begins on March 3, with Incheon away to Jeju United on the opening weekend.
