"We are pretty confident we can do a good job - there is only a couple of players in the Gold Coast side that has some quality," Barbarouses said.

"But I think we have quality all over the pitch and we should be able to deal with them alright."

In all their previous clashes, Roar have never beaten Gold Coast but Barbarouses said history wouldn't play a factor and said he felt they could end their poor run against their rivals.

"We go at every game at 100 per cent, knowing we can dominate the game and go for the win - we will have the same attitude towards this game," he said.

"It would be great to make a bit of history. Especially after what they did to the team last year on Boxing Day - we want to correct that.

"And if we beat them and then Adelaide (on January 2) we will be in a great position to get top spot."
