The 27-year-old has been linked with Everton and Aston Villa and seems certain to leave the Baggies after they failed to regain their place in the Barclays Premiership.

Everton manager David Moyes watched Albion regularly towards the end of the season - and Koumas told www.expressandstar.co.uk: "Any player will say they should be in the Premiership, and I am no different.

"I'm a local lad from Liverpool, I suppose a move back to the city would be a dream move for me.

"I hope I am in the Premiership next season, but if it doesn't happen I will just keep playing to the best of my ability with West Brom."

However, the Wales international will not rush into any decision.

"I'll have a break and decide what I'm going to do in a couple of weeks," he said.

"You wouldn't believe how much I want to have a break now and then decide what I'm going to do in the summer.

"I've got a lot of thinking to do. I'll have a meeting with the manager and the chairman and see what is happening."

Wolves winger Michael Kightly - who has also been linked with Villa and Everton - expects to sign a new contract by the end of the month.

Reports suggested the former Grays player could move to the Barclays Premiership but Kightly hopes to extend his stay at Molineux this summer.

He told www.expressandstar.co.uk: "I'm not looking to sign for Aston Villa or Everton - I feel I owe the supporters and the manager at Wolves a big debt for the chance they gave me," said Kightly.

"Speculation is just part and parcel of football, but there is nothing in this.

"I've said on numerous occasions I want to sign a new contract and I can't see any reason why it won't happen in the next few weeks.

"Jez Moxey (Wolves chief executive) spoke to my agent this morning and I'll be happy to sign - my aim is to be in the Premiership with Wolves.

"We've not spoken about the length of the contract yet, but I'm keen to sign - whether it is four years or an even longer deal."

Kightly will return to Wolves' Compton Park training ground today for treatment on a knee injury which caused him problems at the end of the season.
