Croatia international Robert Kovac has returned to the Bundesliga following two years with Juventus after agreeing to join Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday.
The 33-year-old defender has made the move on a free transfer after becoming surplus to requirements at the future Serie A outfit.
He snubbed a move back to Croatia to try his hand once again in the Bundesliga, where he enjoyed successful spells with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich.
He said: "I am looking forward to the challenge of playing for BVB.
"The sporting potential is clearly in Borussia Dortmund's favour and that is why I am delighted to be back in the Bundesliga next season."
Kovac had been in talks with Dinamo Zagreb, but chose the more lucrative offer to replace Real Madrid-bound centre-back Christoph Metzelder.
He has signed a two-year contract with the Westphalians.
