Tottenham midfielder Niko Kranjcar is relishing the prospect of teaming up with Croatia team-mate Luka Modric at White Hart Lane to help with the club's Champions League push.
Modric has just returned from a fractured fibula and has been on the pitch with Kranjcar for just 19 minutes of the defeat to Wolves.
Both can play on the left flank and Modric has been billed as first choice for Spurs boss Harry Redknapp - but Kranjcar has been in top form and his two goals in the midweek Barclays Premier League victory over Manchester City make him almost impossible to drop.
"I believe we play well together for the national team and I hope we're going to play together for Tottenham," said Kranjcar. "For Croatia, he plays in the middle of midfield and I play down the left.
"We've proved throughout our careers that we can play together and that teams benefit from us two playing together.
"All we want is for Luka to get back to match fitness as soon as he can because he's a fantastic player who opens doors in games."
Victory over City got Spurs back to winning ways after losing to Wolves at the weekend, with Blackburn next up on Saturday as they look to maintain their hopes of a top-four finish.
"From the first day of the season, we believed we have a squad and talented players that can achieve a big goal this season," he added. "Hopefully we can."
Kranjcar feels Spurs have to learn to play against teams who set out to defend against Redknapp's men.
He said: "In the games where we have a lot of room, we're going to show our qualities and prove we have a team and a squad better than most.
"Against teams like Wolves, who are hard to break down, we have to work on creating more chances and moving the ball even more quickly."
