Colombia’s 3-2 win over Australia’s 2018 World Cup first-up foes France in last week’s friendly means they represent the perfect test for the Socceroos according to Robbie Kruse.
The South Americans fought back from 2-0 down after 26 minutes in Paris to secure a remarkable win after goals from Luis Muriel, Radamel Falcao and Juan Quintero.
Australia meet 13th ranked Colombia in London from 6am AEDT on Wednesday in a friendly.
The Socceroos will meet France (ninth), Peru (11th) and Denmark (12th) at the World Cup.
“It’s excellent,” Kruse said. “Obviously they had a great result against France the other night who is our first opponent at the World Cup.
“Obviously they’re littered with world class players, there’s no hiding from that.
“They’re a wonderful team, they’re one of the top nations in the world and they’re going to the World Cup with a firm belief they can go all the way.
“It’s going to be difficult but we’ve got to prepare because at the World Cup we’re playing three of the top nations in the world.”

The match is Australia’s second under new boss Bert van Marwijk having got together for the first time in Norway last week.
“It’s a good test for us on limited preparations under the new coaching staff,” Kruse said.
“It’s going to be difficult but we have a lot more clarity now with where we’re going after the last game.
“Hopefully we can put in a good performance and get a positive result.”
