ROBBIE Kruse has hailed the role of his Melbourne Victory teammates in helping him develop as a footballer and also with his growth off the pitch.
Kruse endured his share of problems at Brisbane Roar after bursting on to the scene as a youngster but his move south to Melbourne Victory has seen him grab his second chance.
A golden boot contender and now part of the Asian Cup squad, he couldn't be happier but is keen to acknowledge the role others have played in helping him reach this point.
After a controversial time at his old club Brisbane, Kruse said the support of his Melbourne Victory team-mates helped turn everything around.
"I've really improved my attitude and stuff off the field and the players at Melbourne Victory have to get a lot of credit for that," Kruse told the club's official website.
"Guys like Kevin Muscat and Archie Thompson, the experienced players there have really helped me turn my life around. Hopefully I can grab my opportunity and do my part and do good in the training camp.
"This is the next stepping stone and hopefully I can have a big impression on Holger and the rest of the team and put my best foot forward and anything can happen."
