Robbie Kruse set up VfL Bochum's late goal in their 1-1 draw with Greuther Furth in Germany's 2.Bundesliga overnight, while Tim Cahill got 15 minutes off the bench for Millwall.
Kruse, who has scored five goals this season for Bochum, laid off the crucial pass for Lukas Hinterseer's 82nd minute equaliser.
The Australian found space inside the box on the left side, squaring the ball centrally for Hinterseer to tap home.
Elsewhere, Tim Cahill replaced fellow Australian James Meredith after 77 minutes as Millwall chased goals in their 3-0 derby defeat to Fulham.
Alex Gersbach played a full game in France's Ligue 2 as Lens drew 3-3 with Le Havre.
